How to play

From wallet to first win

1

Hold a Pixel Scrappy

The game fights with the dogs in your wallet. Collect one on xrp.cafe β€” any rarity works; a Common can still drop a Legendary. No Scrappy yet? The demo lets you play with sample dogs (nothing counts for the leaderboard).

2

Connect Joey Wallet or Xaman

Tap Connect wallet and pick one. Joey Wallet (recommended): scan the QR code with the Joey app (or tap β€œOpen Joey” on your phone), or approve it in the Joey browser extension. Xaman: scan the QR code, or open the Xaman app on your phone. Either way it's a sign-in only β€” no transaction, no fee, nothing leaves your wallet. The kennel then reads your Pixel Scrappys straight from the XRP Ledger.

3

Pick a dog and fight

Tap a Scrappy in your kennel to start a ranked fight. Each round you choose Bite, Guard, Taunt β€” or one of your dog's trait abilities. Ten rounds; the healthiest dog at the bell wins.

4

Come back every day

New fight tickets and quests every day at 00:00 UTC, three arena tournaments, a pack to fight for and a weekly leaderboard. Finish everything and you get a daily recap; every Monday a full weekly result.

Fighting

Bite, guard, taunt

Every round both dogs choose at the same time. Each move beats one and loses to another β€” read your opponent and don't fall into a rhythm.

🦷 Bite

4–7 damage (15% chance to miss). Beats a taunt for +2 extra. Blocked by a guard.

πŸ›‘οΈ Guard

Blocks a bite and snaps back for 2. Gives +1 energy. Loses to a taunt.

🐢 Taunt

+2 energy and chips 2 damage through a guard. Takes extra from a bite.

⚑ Energy & abilities

You start with 2 energy (β—†) and gain 1 every round, up to 9. Guard and taunt add more. Abilities from your dog's traits cost energy β€” shields, heavy hits, heals, energy drains and more.

🧬 Your dog's kit

Each Scrappy carries eight traits, one per layer. Only its three rarest traits fight β€” and at most one of them is an active ability. So the rarity of each single trait decides how a dog plays. Themed Mythic sets add a set bonus on top; the 20 Legendaries have hand-built signature kits.

❀️ Health

Every dog starts at 16 health, plus a rarity bonus: Uncommon and Rare +1, Epic +2, Legendary +2, Mythic +3.

πŸ”₯ Frenzy

From round 7 the fight heats up: every bite hits 1 harder each round (+1, +2, +3, +4). Late rounds decide close fights.

🧠 The opponent reads you

Rivals remember your moves β€” which one you lean on, and which one tends to follow your last one or two β€” and they keep learning your style from fight to fight. Try to bait them and they notice that too. The higher your dog's bond, the sharper they play: they read you more often, fire their ability when it pays and play the score in the last rounds. Always biting, or alternating bite and guard, gets punished. Mix it up and react to what you see.

πŸ• Who you meet

Ranked fights draw rivals from the whole collection of 5,000, with a Legendary now and then β€” never a Scrappy another player fights with; their bond level matches yours, give or take one. In the arena you meet the Scrappys other players hold.

Progress

Tickets, XP and bond

🎟️ Ranked fights

Each ranked fight uses a ticket and pays XP. Out of tickets? Casual fights run for free β€” no XP, no leaderboard.

Per day
5 tickets, +1 for every extra Scrappy you hold (max 10)
Banked
up to 15, into the next day β€” not into a new week
Win
30 XP
Loss
12 XP
Rarer rival
+10 XP

πŸ’ž Bond levels

Every Scrappy levels its own bond, up to level 10 β€” and the bond stays with the NFT. Sell it and the new owner inherits the training.

At bond 4 and 8 you pick a path for each dog (🧭 Bond paths in the kennel) β€” switch any time between fights.

Bond 2
+1 starting energy
Bond 4
+2 max health or Iron Guard (a guard snaps back for 3)
Bond 6
Second Wind β€” heal 3 once, below a quarter health
Bond 8
+2 max health or Quick Start (+1 starting energy)
Bond 10
abilities cost 1 less

πŸ“‹ Daily quests

Three quests a day for extra trainer XP, for example: win 2 fights (60 XP), land a hit of 8+ (40 XP), use 3 abilities (40 XP), fight 3 times (30 XP).

πŸ… Achievements

17 badges to collect β€” first win, beating a rarer dog or a Legendary, streaks of 5 and 10, arena champion, bond 5 and 10, Fight Club wins, the weekly boss, a podium week and more. Your count shows next to your name on the ladder.

πŸ”₯ Streak & trainer level

Your streak counts wins in a row in ranked fights and live arena fights. Casual fights and ghosts don't touch it. Your trainer level rises every 250 XP.

Daily arena

Three tournaments a day

Pick a squad of up to three Scrappys. Each tournament is a knockout: quarter-final, semi-final, final β€” a loss ends that run. Win all three rounds and you're champion.

πŸ₯Š Live or ghosts

Sign up and you fight every round yourself for full XP. Don't, and your squad enters as ghosts that play for you β€” half XP.

πŸ• Real rivals

Arena rivals are Scrappys that other players hold β€” first the squads registered for the day β€” at the bond level their owner trained them to, shown as β€œ#123 from name”. Only while nobody else has played yet does a wild, ownerless Scrappy step in.

πŸ›‘οΈ Earn while you're away

Picking your squad registers it for the day. Whenever another player meets one of your squad dogs in their arena, your dog earns bond XP β€” 18 for a win, 6 for a loss, up to 120 per dog per day β€” credited on your next visit.

πŸ₯Š Fight Club (beta)

Duel another player live: challenge them by name, post an open challenge anyone in the Club can accept, or send an invite link. Both choose at the same time, 20 seconds a round; run out and your dog guards, miss two rounds and it counts as giving up. No tickets, no XP β€” the Club has its own record.

πŸ… Arena XP

Out in round 1
0 XP
1 win
35 XP
2 wins
60 XP
Champion
100 XP

Shared across the squad. A tournament counts the moment it starts β€” leaving mid-bracket still uses it up.

Packs

Fight for your pack

Four packs, up to ten members each. A pack is ranked by wins per member, so a small, sharp pack beats a big, lazy one.

πŸ“… One pack a week

Joining with no pack is instant β€” and then you're in for the week. Switching or leaving is only queued and happens Monday 00:00 UTC, so nobody hops into the pack that's about to win a bonus.

🎁 Weekly bonuses

🦷 Fang
most wins β†’ +1 bite damage
πŸ›‘οΈ Hide
most XP β†’ bites against you hit 1 softer
✨ Spirit
longest streak β†’ +1 starting energy

Bonuses apply to ranked fights for the whole following week.

βš–οΈ No dynasties

One bonus per pack: top two boards and the runner-up inherits the second. Defending a bonus needs +10% over the runner-up, then +20%; after three weeks in a row the holder sits that board out.

πŸ“Š Everything on the table

Pack cards show totals and per-member numbers: wins, losses, fights, XP and win rate. Every Monday the weekly results show the final pack order and who earned which bonus.

πŸ’‘ Tip: use every ticket and all three tournaments β€” your wins lift your whole pack's average.

FAQ

Questions

Does signing in cost anything or move my NFTs?

No. Signing in with Joey Wallet or Xaman only proves which wallet is yours. There is no transaction, no fee, and nothing leaves your wallet.

Can I choose the name other players see?

Yes β€” tap ✏️ next to your wallet in the kennel. Your name (3–16 characters, unique) appears on the leaderboard and when others meet your Scrappys in the arena. Without one, your shortened wallet address is shown.

Which wallets work?

Joey Wallet is our recommendation: the Joey app (QR code or on your phone) and the Joey browser extension. Xaman works too (app, by QR code or on your phone). The Joey app proves your wallet by signing a 1-drop payment to yourself β€” a transaction the ledger always refuses, so it can never be sent. Joey Ledger accounts work too.

I hold Scrappys but my kennel is empty.

Hit ↻ Refresh in the kennel β€” ownership is read fresh from the ledger. The first load of a big wallet can take a moment while the images come in. If a Scrappy can't be loaded, the kennel says which and why.

What happens to my progress if I sell a Scrappy?

The bond level stays with the NFT, so the new owner inherits the training. Your trainer level and weekly stats stay with you.

When do things reset?

Tickets, quests and arena tournaments: every day at 00:00 UTC. Leaderboard, pack standings and pack moves: every Monday at 00:00 UTC.

Why do I keep losing when I always bite?

Rivals learn your habits β€” within a fight and across fights β€” and get sharper as your bond grows. A fixed pattern gets countered, and a guard that blocks your bite snaps back for 2. Vary your moves and watch what the opponent does.

Is there a chat?

Yes β€” once you're signed in, the πŸ’¬ button opens one room for all players. Plain text only: links are blocked (except scrappyxrp.fun and xrp.cafe), one message every few seconds. It also tells you when someone posts an open Fight Club challenge or is looking for a dog to borrow. Never share your wallet secret β€” the chat refuses anything that looks like one.

I don't own a Pixel Scrappy β€” can I still play for real?

Yes. The first time you sign in without one, the Scrappy team lends you a starter dog for 7 days: fight ranked and in the arena, level its bond, climb the ladder and hit the boss like everyone (the weekly NFT prizes are for trainers with a Scrappy of their own). After that β€” or any time β€” borrow one from the πŸͺ lending market in your kennel (holders offer dogs there; one tap and it's yours for the days shown), or a holder can lend you one by name. Set a player name (✏️ next to your wallet) and tap β€œI'm looking for a dog” in your kennel β€” every holder sees the list, and the chat announces it. Once someone lends you one, the dog appears in your kennel for the loan period and fights ranked and arena with you. The NFT stays in the holder's wallet. Its bond XP stays with the dog, and the holder gets 25 % of the trainer XP you earn with it β€” and a share if you win a weekly prize with it.

Are there prizes?

Yes. Every week the top 3 of the XP ladder and the most active member of the winning pack win a Pixel Scrappy from the treasury. Team wallets (marked TEAM on the boards) play for testing only β€” they never take a prize or count for a pack. It arrives as a free offer (0 XRP) that only your wallet can accept β€” the game shows it in your kennel with an Accept button, or accept it in any XRPL wallet.

Can players fake their ranking?

No. Ranked and arena fights are refereed by the game server: it rebuilds both dogs from the ledger and the metadata, gets both moves and only then rolls each round's dice. It books every result itself, and the leaderboard never shows more XP, wins or streak than it verified.

What is the weekly boss?

Each week one of the 20 hand-built Legendaries is the boss, with one health bar for everybody. Every ranked and arena fight hits it with the damage your dog deals (up to 500 a day per player). If it falls before Monday 00:00 UTC, everyone who hit it gets +3 ranked fights, and the top three are named in the chat and on Discord. The stronger the last boss was hit, the more health the next one has.

I hold Scrappys β€” can I lend them out?

Yes. In your kennel (🀝 Lend a Scrappy) list up to 3 dogs on the lending market for 3, 7 or 14 days with a short note β€” the first player who taps β€œBorrow” gets it (holders can borrow too, one dog at a time). Or lend one directly by player name. The NFT never leaves your wallet; its bond XP stays with the dog, you get 25 % of the trainer XP the borrower earns with it, and a share if they win a weekly prize with it. After the loan the listing is back on the market.

How do invites work?

In your kennel (πŸ“£ Invite friends) you get a link with your player name. When a friend comes in through it, gets a Pixel Scrappy of their own and fights 5 times, you both get +3 ranked fights β€” and you the πŸ“£ Recruiter badge.

How do I know the results weren't changed?

When a week ends its final standings and prize winners are frozen and hashed (SHA-256). That hash is written into a transaction memo on the XRP Ledger, where it can never be edited. Anyone can download the raw results, hash them, and compare β€” the link is under β€œLast week β€” final”.

How does a Fight Club duel stay fair?

Both moves go to the game server, which only reveals them once both are in and then rolls the dice with the same fight engine the game uses. Nobody sees your move first, and both screens replay exactly the server's fight. It's a beta for Season 1: it pays no XP and keeps its own win/loss record. Matchmaking and a Club ladder follow in Season 2.

Can I play without a Pixel Scrappy?

Yes, in the demo with sample dogs. Demo fights don't count for the leaderboard or packs.
